Happier Things... like hot British men.

Oooooh, how I depressed all my lovely people with last night's post, so, I will make it up to you with talk of hot British men, eh? This is for two reasons. One, I love you, and two, in preparation for the release of book two, we need to have some alone time with Christian Wright.

Christian Wright, you say? Who in the flat-bellied pigeon fryer is that? Ok, if you've already read Seers of Light, you'll know the answer to this one. If not, no sweat, let me introduce you. Here is an estimate of Mr. Wright, as I kind of see him in my mind, because I don't know about you, but I sure like a visual:



A few passages/quotes from Christian from Seers of Light:

“If you’re waiting for my good looks to fade,” Christian began, waving his toast in the air, “it’s a futile waste of time. Give up at once.”

He sighed, looking at me warmly, and then, in a typical display of Christian-like emotion, grabbed me around the shoulders and held me tight. I winced, my arms still throbbing, but said nothing.

“Oh, right,” I said, my face flushing as I freed his hand. “You need to stop messing with me that way, I mean, the calming thing. It’s very disorienting!”

“Yes, horribly disorienting being so very…peaceful,” he grinned. “Do you feel more at home in a panicked state?”

“Ugh. It’s more familiar to me than anything else anymore.” I sat on the edge of the bed and sighed.

“You know,” Christian began, taking a seat next to me. “Everything that’s been happening to you is perfectly normal…for people like us,” he said.

I laughed. “And I’m sure that would be very reassuring if it didn’t scare the shit out of me,” I said.

“Ah, should I whip out the calm, then?”

“No, no,” I said. “You’d better watch yourself, Christian. When I start getting all skilled with the glowing lights of bliss, you’re going to be a serene mess. Payback’s a bitch.”

“Then I’ll remember to keep my distance whenever I prefer a really foul mood,” he laughed softly.

“Wise,” I said.

Now then. Seers of Light isn't Christian's story. It belongs to Lily, and the book can be deceiving with regards to Mr. Wright's character. A lot of you who have read Seers have caught onto this, I think. Christian is a pretty messed up guy in Seers, you see, but in Whisper of Light, you're granted a more balanced view.

I'm going to post some character traits for Christian that you probably haven't noticed were already on my Light Series page. Here goes:

Christian Wright:

~Will try any food once.
~Can bench 450.
~Lost his virginity when he was 16 (to an American college girl on spring break.)
~Believes in monogamous relationships.
~Wants the kind of marriage that his parents had.
~Adores Foot Ball (soccer, to Americans), and is exceptionally good at it.
~Is very fond of hugs.
~Once carried an old woman across a flooded road.
