On Writing Book Three: Circle of Light!

WHEW! I'd been going through a dry spell of writing for a while but that floodgate has been lifted and WHOOSH! In came the inspiration that had been evading me. Book three in the Light Series Trilogy, which is tentatively entitled Circle of Light, is now, officially on a roll! Well, its author is on a writing bender, anyway.

In fact, I'm really not doing the experience any justice unless I say that I am thoroughly and passionately excited about what's happening in the book. I love it with all my heart when everything, all the answers and the mysteries unravel themselves like magic and leave me saying, AHA!! That's why! And that's what! And Oooooh, wow, really??? My best friend always makes fun of me because I refer to the events in my books as if they're happening of their own accord and I'm simply watching them and copying them down. But, it's so very true to how it feels when I'm writing, and that is a big part of the reason I write in the first place--that experience, that passionate, emotional, magical journey the hour it sweeps me up and carries me along. And I'm really caught up in things now, so, passionate I am! :) Lily and I have that in common.

I'll leave you with one or two things. First, a tiny teaser to say that things are reeeeally hittin' the fan for William and Lily right now, but I'm rooting for them always! Also, I came across a song this week (okay, shoot me, because it's a Beatles song and everyone should know it...which I didn't, at first), called "Across the Universe". It's now on the book three playlist, which I thought I'd share with you tonight. It'll be early winter, I think, when Circle of Light is released, so we've got a handful of months to go, but I'll give you little gifts along the way, I promise. This playlist is a work in progress, so, you'll want to check it every once in a while and see if there's a new song or two! Mwah! Enjoy!

Hooray for writing benders!!! (I've been on one too this weekend. :D) I'll be rooting for Lily and William...they need one of those uninames, um, Wily? No! Liliam? Hey, I kinda like that one---which means they CAN'T break up! Not forever.

Right then---don't let me distract you from that bender. Carry on, and YaHoo for Bob Marley making it onto your playlist! ;)

Hey, congrats on the bender. :-) Did you ever see Inception? In it they talk about designing building sometimes being like discovering rather than creating when a project takes on a life of its own. I think this applies to writing too. Sometimes the story and characters flow so well it's almost as if it's growing and developing instead of being imagined.

I totally agree that you need to be passionate and connected to the characters to do your best writing. Glad to hear book 3 is chugging along. Keep it up!

I love when a bender happens. It's a great feeling when all the pieces start to unravel and fall into place. :-)

Great title too!

Thank you for the comments, ladies! And Carol, the comparison between discovering vs. building is such a spot on point, one that I've prattled on about for a while now, lol. I plan to blog about it with relation to what's been happening with this trilogy all along. It's very inspiring and life-affirming for me.

Good to hear from all of you!
Mwah!
