Take a breath, and everybody sit in the corner for a time out. Right now.
Humans should speak out against cruelty and injustice. I believe it is our job on Earth to ease the suffering of the people around us. That being said, I'm tired of seeing humans doing certain tyrannical forces the favor of tearing each other apart on their behalf.
We all need to stop dehumanizing each other. That is what tyrannical power not only wants but depends upon. I vehemently disagree with what the current regime is doing, but dehumanization happens far too easily, and no matter your life view, we need to get it together. Calling people MAGATs, something I have NEVER done, "othering" them and making comments about them needing to go away is just as blind as Republican extremists who say "including every LIBTARD Democrat" re: Repubs doing harm to American citizens in retaliation for disagreeing with them.
If your heart isn't different from theirs, then you're no better. The only thing that will shake people enough to question their own blind fear and hatred is an example of kindness and radical love that they are not used to seeing anymore. You want something jarring? That's jarring.
All people, no matter their political party, need to stand side by side and cry out for democracy to be upheld for all their brothers and sisters. This is a together thing. If we cannot remember how to work together, if we cannot see our way to remembering (or perhaps even recognizing for the first time) the humanity in our everyday neighbors, regardless of differences, we have no hope, we cannot unite for good, and we have all given corrupt powers exactly the division they need to keep us distracted from any chance of working together.
This world needs a mom. It needs a mom desperately to calm it the hell down and remind everyone that we can be better - that we are capable of so much better. That we can make better damn choices before rage fits and tantrums lead us all to our own destruction.
Please - while we still can, Democrats, Republicans, and everything in between, this has always been about class oppression, not left and right! Fight for your neighbors, not the men in high towers.
